Dr. Venessa M. Dr. Venessa’s groundbreaking research centers on the career mobility and well-being of Black and Brown women in the workplace, with a focus on gendered racism and the often-overlooked impact of peri(menopause) on leadership potential. Her forthcoming book, The Path to Inclusivity: How to Create Safety, Well-Being, and Belonging for Black Women in Financial Services, set to be released by Palgrave and Macmillan in early 2025, is already being hailed as a must-read for executives committed to fostering diversity and inclusion.
Dr. Venessa was trained at the CAPP Institute and is certified by the ICF. Dr. Venessa’s executive coaching approach utilizes positive psychology to focus on the holistic well-being of the leader. When leaders are thriving, there is increased job satisfaction, increased engagement, improved relationships, and enhanced productivity. Using an evidence-based approach, we assess, plan, act, and evaluate. We provide resources and exercises to encourage a growth mindset that utilizes incremental habit changes and accountability to get our leaders to the next level. We recognize that leaders of color face specific challenges and opportunities in the workplace. Being the first, few, or only leaders of color within an organization can negatively impact leaders, causing mental health issues, exhaustion, and burnout.
